Special Features

Students enrolled in the University of Hartford pathway at Progress Drive receive direct pathway priority to continue the magnet experience in kindergarten – grade 5 at University of Hartford Magnet School in West Hartford. University of Hartford pathway students will be placed in classrooms together at the Progress Drive location, which means they will have established friendships when transitioning to the new school for kindergarten. Like the main direct pathway school, students will explore their learning through the eight intelligences: bodily-kinesthetic; interpersonal; intrapersonal; linguistic; logical-mathematical; musical; naturalistic; and visual-spatial.


Placement Priorities

Applicants applying to our school with one or more of the following priorities may have an increased chance of receiving a placement offer if they apply during the on-time application period and select the appropriate CREC Preschool and Progress Drive pathways option as their first-choice school selection.

CONTINUING THE MAGNET EXPERIENCE!

CREC Preschool at Progress Drive, University of Hartford Magnet School Pathway PK4 students have a direct pathway to Kindergarten at University of Hartford Magnet School. To be eligible for this pathway, applicants must submit an on-time RSCO online application with University of Hartford Magnet School as their first-choice school.
