Visual and Performing Arts
The Visual and Performing Arts theme encourages students to develop artistic creations to communicate thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Students have access to specialized courses in art, music, dance, digital arts, creative writing, theater design and other forms of performance art.

Special Features

  • Unparalleled arts exposure: dance, filmmaking, digital music, drawing, painting, sculpture, instrumental music, voice, musical theater, theater, voice, and songwriting
  • “State-of-the-arts” facility with performance spaces, a remarkable media center, and advanced 1:1 technology in all academic classrooms
  • Starting in 1st grade, students begin Suzuki string classes up through 5th grade
  • Starting in 4th grade, students can choose to play strings, woodwind, brass, or percussion
  • Starting in 6th grade, students can specialize in a specific art form

Placement Priorities

The following priorities are used in the placement process and can increase the chance of a placement if the school has available seats. To receive priority at Ana Grace, you must apply during the on-time application period and make the school your first choice. Applicants receive priority in the order listed below.

CONTINUING THE MAGNET EXPERIENCE!

Ana Grace Academy of the Arts School 8th grade students have a direct pathway to 9th grade at either Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School Full Day or Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Half Day Program. To be eligible for direct pathway priority, applicants must submit an on-time RSCO application and make either the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School Full Day or Half Day Program their first-choice school.

Students enrolled in grades 5 and 8 at Ana Grace Academy of the Arts may also receive a pathway priority when applying to the following schools:
