At Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School&ndash;Full Day (Arts High), we combine traditional academics with an arts focus, earning us the title of &ldquo;Best Magnet School&rdquo; from Hartford Magazine for four consecutive years. Our students prepare for college and careers through a rigorous core curriculum while nurturing their artistic passions. Guided by professional artists, students develop their talents in state-of-the-art facilities. FUTURE READINESS 
Students choose from specialized courses in music, dance, media production, creative writing, graphic design, and theater, taught by professional artists. Our project-based learning approach encourages students to take ownership of their education and develop essential skills. Through academic and artistic projects, performances, and celebrations, we empower students to find and use their voices to tell their unique and powerful stories.

The following priorities are used in the placement process and can increase the chance of a placement if the school has available seats. To receive priority, you must apply during the on-time application period and make the school your first choice. Applicants receive priority in the order listed below.

Special Features

The Visual and Performing Arts theme encourages students to develop artistic creations to communicate thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Students have access to specialized courses in art, music, dance, digital arts, creative writing, theater design and other forms of performance art.
