The Connecticut River Academy at Goodwin University (CTRA) spans four buildings and is a NEASC accredited award-winning magnet school. As an Early College school, our scholars prepare for college through college-level and Advanced Placement (AP) classes and can earn more than 30 tuition-free credits, enabling them to enter college as sophomores. We offer 21st-century subject pathways including Computer Science and STEM at the middle level, Manufacturing and Engineering, Health Sciences &amp; Nursing, Computer Science, and Business Administration at the high school. Awareness, Diversity, and Action are the foundation of our core values and beliefs and shape the positive school environment.

FUTURE READINESS 
Our scholars get a jump-start on their college and career paths. In addition to a full range of high school courses, students can take classes at Goodwin University and earn more than 30 transferable college credits while still in high school&mdash;all at no tuition cost. We offer pre-apprenticeships with high-tech companies and businesses to connect classroom work with the real world. Scholars are prepared academically and socially for college, laying an important foundation for future success.

The following priorities are used in the placement process and can increase the chance of a placement if the school has available seats. To receive priority, you must apply during the on-time application period and make the school your first choice. Applicants receive priority in the order listed below.

Special Features

The Advanced Manufacturing theme provides students with the skills and training required for a career in the high-demand advanced manufacturing field. Through hands-on experience on state-of-the art technology equipment, students develop the skills to prepare them for future careers and/or advanced education in manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and more.

Early College and College Preparatory themed schools focus on college and career readiness at graduation, using a college model environment and providing an early start on earning college credit.
